Why Woodskil

Designed around how home workshops actually work — not scaled-down industrial machines.

Two tools, one footprint

Combo machines — belt + disc sander, oscillating belt + spindle sander, grinder + belt sander — give you a second function without giving up bench space.

Adjustable, repeatable, controllable

Tilting tables, miter gauges, variable-speed dials, quick-tension systems, and laser guides make the same cut — or sand, or polish — easy to repeat.

Built for the home workshop

Cast iron bases, stable steel frames, dust-collection ports, and tool-free access — all in a benchtop format that fits a garage or maker space.

About Woodskil

Woodskil designs practical benchtop tools for makers, woodworkers, hobbyists, repair shops, and small workshop owners. The lineup focuses on the core jobs that fill a garage or basement workbench — sanding, grinding, polishing, cutting, and drilling.

The product family includes belt and disc sanders, oscillating spindle sanders, bench grinders, buffer polishers, bandsaws, and a benchtop drill press. Each machine is sized for a workbench rather than an industrial floor, with stable bases, adjustable work surfaces, and controls aimed at repeatable accuracy.

Materials & projects

Woodskil tools are used on wood, metal, jewelry, knives, jade, amber, rock, dental materials, and other mixed workshop materials. The same bench buffer that polishes jewelry can refinish auto parts; the same grinder that sharpens chisels can clean up a knife edge.

The goal is a small set of dependable shop machines for users who are upgrading from handheld tools or filling out a more capable workshop — without crossing into oversized industrial equipment.

Built for these workshop jobs

Where each Woodskil tool earns its space on the bench.

Woodworking & DIY

Use a Woodskil 9" or 10" bandsaw for curved cuts and small boards, a 4×36" belt and disc sander for shaping and bevels, and the 8" benchtop drill press for repeatable holes in furniture and craft builds.

Metalwork & sharpening

6" and 8" Woodskil bench grinders handle blade and chisel sharpening, deburring, and shaping. The grinder + belt sander combo adds a 2×27" belt for cleaning up metal edges and knife profiles.

Polishing & finishing

6", 8", and 10" Woodskil buffer polishers smooth and refine wood, metal, knives, and small parts. Dual-speed models give a gentler pass for delicate work and a stronger pass for heavier surface action.

Craft, jewelry & specialty materials

Variable-speed spindle sanders handle curves and inside contours; bench polishers and grinders fit jade, amber, rock, dental work, and jewelry where small parts need controlled, repeatable surface work.

I am very satisfied with this sander. It works well. It is easy to replace belts and adjust the tracking. It appears to be solidly built. It is little under powered but for the price, you can't beat it.

First thing to know about this unit: it's ridiculously light weight. My Ryobi unit that looked identical to this machine was at least 30 years old and heavy as all get out. For all intents and purposes I expected this clone unit to be the same, BOY WAS I WRONG! It weight half the Ryobi Sander's weight almost exactly. That can be a drawback of you don't want to bolt it down, but it will save your back carrying it for sure. All functions are solid and it works as intended. Dust collection isn't awesome as there is no assistance to your collection method, but that is somewhat to be expected with this style unit. At about $100 at the time I purchased it, it was $50 less than the Wen, and $100 less than the Skil offerings of essentially the same to with their respective paint schemes. Worth every penny.

This disk and belt sander (disk and belt) is outstanding! The motor is powerful, quiet, easy to set up and adjust for perfect angles. Replacing the disk, belt and making adjustments are simple. I highly recommend this sander. Update: I dropped the miter gauge on a concrete floor and broke it. I tried gluing it back together, but that didn't fix it. I called the company, told them what I did, and asked if I could order another one. The company sent me a replacement… for free!

Powerful machine. runs very smoothly with variable speed. Safety features and work light. Minimal assembly of safety features., took about 5 minutes. 8 inch wheels are perfect size for grinding.

Superb bench polisher/buffer for an extremely low price. Like the fact that it has 2 speeds. Buffing everything from the stains and rust from my tools to auto parts and even kitchen items. Very smooth and reliable! Like the extra long shaft which makes buffing/polishing much easier. Like the fact that it can also be used as a bench grinder. And it comes with a standard (most popular) 5/8 dia. shaft (arbor). DELIGHTED!!

It was easy to assemble and square up the table with the blade. I cut a piece of wood to check everything out and was surprised that it cut at 90 degrees on the first attempt. I make candle holders and like to insert colored pieces of acrylic on the inside. My laser cuts extremely accurately and I was depending on this saw to cut the acrylic to fit, and the pieces had to be exact. Not only did the saw cut cleanly, but there was no problem in straight cuts, no wandering, and no variation in the cut. I did hook up a shop vac and attached a magnetic light, however. Changing the blade was fairly easy and only took me a few minutes. All in all, I would definitely recommend this saw to anyone looking for a small, quiet, and excellent band saw.
